A result of the Covid pandemic has been a renewed focus on – and appreciation of – our health and well being.

Wellness has come on in leaps and bounds in hotel and resort environments of late. Gone are the days of providing a little gym equipment or installing a green wall was sufficient. Wellness needs to be ingrained in the very fabric of a building to make a noticeable impact.

Holistic architecture and design embrace a whole range of factors that benefit occupants, from sustainability and eco materials to aesthetics and spirituality.

Elements such as sunlight, fresh air, nature and safety, are considered alongside the needs of the senses - sight, sound, smell and touch.

At Prime Suites, the villas have been cleverly designed as stylish wellness sanctuaries that actively help you feel healthier and happier.

How to make this happen?

All our bets are in our design choices and in the beautiful surroundings of the Ilha do Guajirú lagoon in Ceará - Brazil.

The benefits of spending time near water are well documented. New studies are showing that spending time in and around water has positive impacts on both cognitive and physical health. Just to see and hear water can reduce cortisol levels, provide a burst of feel-good hormones, and boost blood flow.

DESIGN IS INFLUENCING YOUR MOOD

Feng Shui is teaching us that the textures and patterns of furniture and other decor items should represent the natural elements.

Our modern, minimalist design creates a serene, relaxing, yet stimulating environment. We’ve used a range of colours and fabrics to promote mental well-being and calmness. “Openness” is the overall key theme for the interior style and ambiance.

Expansive windows, indoor gardens, the use of glass, built-in furniture and earthy beige tones create a feeling of freedom, tranquility and harmony with the surroundings.

Another aspect we’ve given our full attention to is sleep. Whether we get a full night’s rest or not can greatly impact on our mental health. The first step to restful slumber is a decent bed. According to a report by the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, 81% of travelers mention the quality of beds and the sleep experience as being the decisive factors when choosing a place to stay.

We will provide luxurious mattresses made from natural, breathable fibers with antimicrobial, anti fungal and antibacterial properties to keep allergens at bay.

The idea of natural light as a mood enhancer has been around since ancient Greek physician Hippocrates linked the changing seasons and differing hours of daylight to health. At Prime Suites, we’ve used Brazilian lattice-like cobogó brickwork to create playful patterns of light.

Our high ceilings create a sense of freedom and allow natural light and sunlight to flow into the spaces.

To take this to the next level, we recommend rooftop yoga as the ultimate stressbuster!

By taking every aspect of our guests’ well-being into consideration we’ve created an environment in which to disconnect from everyday life and focus on body, mind and spirit.

And as Hippocrates himself said: “A wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings”.

Feel happy, breathe and keep calm. Join Prime Suite in this peaceful journey.
