The global pandemic has caused a seismic shift in travel trends and hotel guests’ predilections. After a year in which individuals have been restricted like never before, many are eager to get out exploring again – but safety is paramount.
At the same time, we witnessed a surge in popularity of boutique hotels.
According to an eHotelier report, small boutique hotels will take a much shorter time to gain public confidence and trust. But how do you gain trust and confidence?
1 - BY FOCUSING ON SANITIZATION

In some cases, size matters. Boutique hotels are perceived to be simpler to clean and sanitize, which is the number one concern among global travelers today. By design, boutique hotels have a smaller footprint and fewer rooms, and a selected team of employees who care about delivering a customized experience for each guest. And with fewer people interacting, the risk of contamination is much lower. Some boutique hotels even offer specialized cleaning professionals focusing on detailed checklists that go far beyond most hotel standards.
2 - BY OFFERING SAFE AND SECURE EXPERIENCES
Travelers who want inspiring experiences often seek out boutique hotels because they are better at delivering remarkable moments that fuel our soul, nourish our spirit, and transcend the expected.

With the trend for mindfulness deepening, hotels that offer serene, meditative spaces, tranquil spas and wellness activities are favoured over busy, bustling resorts with loud entertainment and crowds.
But now, in addition to seeking inspiring experiences, safety becomes the primary concern of all travelers. Smaller numbers allow for greater attention to detail. Individual, tailored tours with private drivers and guides, food personally prepared by the chef and insider advice from the concierge all add up to safer, more enriching experiences.
At the same time, guests don’t wish to feel isolated or segregated. So, a hotel carefully designed to engender a feeling of intimacy and seclusion is ideal.
Boutique hotels tend to offer greater, spacious rooms and private pools promoting the feeling of being like home and enhancing the sense of privacy.

3 - BY CONTINOUSLY GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND BEING SUSTAINABLE
If the pandemic has done one thing, it has made us more aware of the fragility of the earth and all its inhabitants. For lovers of travel, supporting local communities and reducing carbon footprint is more important than ever. Taking responsibility for ourselves and our community has become more critical than ever before in our history.

Smaller hotels are more community oriented and often have a more caring culture than larger chains, combining ecological, sustainable and community initiatives into their ethos.
Sustainability has been accelerated by the pandemic. According to Booking.com, 73% of travelers prefer an eco-sustainable hotel rather than a traditional one. Due to their size, eco measures are easier to implement by boutique hotels which in general are more appealing to environmentally-conscious clients.
INTRODUCING PRIME SUITES
Set in the wild open spaces of Ilha do Guajiru, on Brazil’s fabulous northeast coast, Prime Suites is a new, luxurious beachside hotel envisioned with a deep respect for the environment.

While designing this carbon neutral boutique hotel, our architects created soothing, plant-rich spaces and a feeling of sanctuary where inside and outside merge. Running through the complex, a linear water feature draws the eye to the ocean, while facades marked with cobogó lattice-like brickwork enhance the feeling of light and air. From sunrise meditation to evening pilates, kitesurfing, horse riding and quad biking on the beach, there’s an array of activities to nurture body, mind and spirit.

Prime Suites is dedicated to supporting the community, with initiatives aiding local artisans, farmers and children. Guests keen to offset the CO2 emissions of their flight are able to donate to reforestation projects in the Amazon rainforest.
But nearest and dearest to us is the growing culture of community that Prime Suites has sparked. Across cities and continents, we’re connecting a new and multi-faceted tribe of travelers– individuals bound together by similar values, and their shared quest for a deep, fulfilling experience.
"While we can’t predict what the upcoming years will bring, we feel confident that we will be ready to offer you a safe and sustainable stay with us."
